Good day to you all! This is Lucy Hound here bringing you the latest edition of Hound Chat!
This Hound Chat is more about the servants than me. They celebrated a special anniversary this week: on 2nd April 2017 they clocked up 7 WHOLE YEARS of being my servants!
Looking back over the past 7 years I think they have done a good job overall, but I think there are also a few areas they could improve on. After all, no-one is perfect so I think it's only fair I give constructive criticism as well as praise.
The positive things they've done is to feed me good food regularly, give me treats on a consistent basis, provide me with a bed to sleep on, take me on a lot of nice walks, take me on holiday and make me special cakes for birthdays and at holiday times.
There are however areas in which there is room for improvement. For example, it is often frustrating to have to wait until half time during football matches (take note male servant) or to have to wait until Autumn Watch has finished (take note female servant) before I can get a treat. Us hounds are far more important than sport and T.V. programmes and we shouldn't be inconvenienced because of them. In terms of having a bed to sleep on, I do also like to curl up in an armchair or sprawl on the sofa. Unfortunately, the armchairs are sometimes occupied by the servants and the sofa is often occupied by Ben and / or Kylie. In such a situation, it would be appreciated if the servants could vacate the armchairs so I can have the pick of one of them. If they really need somewhere else to sit when all other duties have been carried out, my bed (located on the floor) is more than adequate and once I've chosen my favourite armchair, the other one is of course free too (supposing Ben or Kylie haven't taken it by then).
The servants do take us on nice walks but there are times when I'm not ready to go home and they always complain that they have things to do. Surely an extra 30 minutes of walking on top of the hour I've already had isn't asking too much?
Finally, the treats the servants make for me are nice but I would appreciate them more often, maybe every other day as a minimum?
On the whole though, a good effort and I'll award them a solid 8 out of 10 for their efforts. If they follow the suggestions above they might reach a 9 or maybe even better next year! :-)
Right, have a nice weekend everyone, I'll let you know if the servants have heeded my advice in next week's blog!

We are occasionally lively greyhounds who live with two human servants. Sadly our house- mate Ben crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 23/09/18, just a few hours after writing his final blog. We miss him so much but we know he's running free and no longer in pain.
