Good day to one and all! Benny Hound here!
Well, it has finally happened.... we were really hoping they had forgotten, but yesterday at 1.34 pm precisely, the female servant rudely woke me from my lovely sleep and frogmarched me into the back garden; she then soaked me in warm water and covered me in doggy shampoo! I was having a lovely sleep, dreaming about dog biscuits but before I knew it I was dripping wet and blowing bubbles out of my nose! I really hate baths and then for weeks and weeks afterwards everyone insists on sniffing my head and telling me I smell lovely! I hate being told I smell nice, I have a tough-dog image to maintain don't you know? I've had nearly 7 years of baths and similar pamperings and it never gets any easier to live down with the other dogs in the neighbourhood.
On a more positive note, the male servant, when he hasn't been brushing my teeth or messing with my nails, has been working hard this week putting the finishing touches to the Pet Minicab. The crates were fitted last Wednesday and once the bedding and ramp arrives WE will be able to test it out! We're quite happy to be the 'guinea-dogs' on this occasion! We don't like baths and horrible things like that but we're more than happy to have a ride in the 'hound mobile' as long as it's not to the vets!!
Anyway, I'm off to catch up on the ENTIRE hour of sleep I lost yesterday. I have to admit, friends, that I'm scared to close my eyes at times in case I get hauled outside for another soaking. Yesterday's bath has scarred me for life, I hope those servants are pleased with themselves, how will I ever get over....... sorry, what was I saying? I can't remember, I can smell biscuits, I'm off to investigate. Whatever I was saying I don't mean it, these servants aren't so bad, I'm going to look at them with sad eyes so they give me lots of nice biscuits!
Until next time friends,
Love, Benny hound xx
Hello humans and doggies, Lucy Hound here! Here is a picture of me getting all excited when I found out recently I was going for a car ride! Me, Ben and Kylie love going on adventures in the 'hound mobile'. We're always nervous at first though because we don't know if the human servants are planning on taking us to the vets, and believe me when I say, my little doggy brain knows the route to the vets to the exact road sign and tarmac layout. Once they take a turn away from that horrible place, however, we can start thinking about getting our doggy buckets and spades out and getting ready for the beach!
We're really excited this week because the servants are about to launch their pet taxi service. It will be great for all the animals they can help (even cats, just as long as we're not in the car at the same time!) with runs to the vets (I shudder every time I think of that place) or groomers and so on. However, it's great for us too because in between other animals using it, we'll get to use the brand new pet crates to help the male servant trial it all! If we look sweet and innocent we may get extra treats too! We've been told we're getting a trip to the nice pet shop in Codsall soon to stock up on treats and the servants will also be taking us on walks to nearby Perton, Cannock Chase and Albrighton! We've also been informed by the male servant that we'll be going to Merseyside for a walk along the River Ribble Estuary (no, we don't get the fascination either). Another bit of good news is that our baths appear to have been postponed although we're not counting our lucky dog biscuits just yet. We don't like rain usually but we were delighted it poured down at the weekend so we couldn't have a bath! So even though it rained we stayed dry (if you get what we mean). However, as soon as one problem passes another presents itself- this time in the shape of flea and worming treatment which crashed through the letter box the other day. We know we need the treatment and the human servants do look after us, but it honestly seems to be one thing after another with them at times. If we're not getting our teeth cleaned, we're having our ears messed with; if we're not having our ears messed with we're having our nails trimmed. These servants need to learn to chill out and give us dogs some space- after all, we do work hard round here...... well, okay we don't, but we're sweet nevertheless.
Until next time!
Lucy, Ben & Kylie
Greetings, friends near and far! Benny Hound here! Well it started off as a fairly normal week. As you can see from the picture, I do like my sleep (and lots of it) after a busy day of resting, and I'm pleased to say I got my usual quota. I've had lots of nice sleeps while the humans have been busy doing their duties. The male servant has been acting more strangely than normal. He keeps on doing press ups in random places. I thought he looked like he needed help on Saturday so I kept jumping on his back and pawing at his head while he was doing them. Did he thank me? No! And he even told me off and said the word 'bum' at one point (or something similar). Kylie didn't pay much attention but Lucy put her paws over her ears as she doesn't like bad language. After the excitement of last week when we had LOTS of nice home made biscuits (note to humans- we need these more often) to celebrate Lucy being eligible for a doggy bus-pass, this week it was back to normal biscuits from sunny Wolverhampton. Don't get us wrong
the biscuits we normally have are more than acceptable but we do like extra special treats. One little bit of hope is that the granny servant, who pops round each week to fuss us, has given the regular servants some nice coins to buy us more treats so that looks promising! We are looking forward to car rides soon. We've been promised a trip to Cannock Chase and the sea side in the coming weeks and we'll post pictures of our adventures as soon as the humans get on and sort it, along with their press up and baking duties. On a darker note, our radar ears picked up early signs of trouble a few days ago. We overheard the humans mentioning the 'B' word. We aren't a big fan of Baths! Well, would you want to stand outside having water and shampoo poured over you for 20 minutes? No you wouldn't and neither do we! We always hear that old adage from the humans saying 'you should thank us for this'. Well, we haven't yet and we don't intend to! Hopefully they'll forget this impending misery while baking and doing press ups, particularly if I keep jumping on the male servant and nibbling his ear.
Anyway, I'm shattered now after writing this (yawn), so excuse me while I go back to my basket for a short 11 hour kip
Paws and slurps,
Ben, Lucy & Kylie xxx
Nom nom nom nom nom nom nom nom nom nom nom nom nom,,,,,, oh hello there, human friends and animal friends! Nom nom nom nom nom nom nom nom nom, Lucy here, nom nom nom nom nom nom nom nom.....just savouring some of the lovely birthday oatcake the female servant has made for my 63rd doggy birthday. Well, I may be 63 in doggy years but unlike you lucky humans (excluding the Queen who's even luckier and has 2 a year) I don't get to celebrate my birthday every doggy year. I only celebrate a birthday in line with human years so that means I've only had 9 so far :-((
But it's okay, I'm making up for it by stuffing my face with these lovely cakes (see pics). The only drawback is my pesky fellow hound-mates; Ben & Kylie keep trying to jump to the front of the queue but as it's MY birthday they can wait their turn for a change!! Also, Kylie was crying the whole time the female servant was making the cakes as she wanted to be the first to try them. I have to admit she was doing my doggy head in at times, but not as much as the male servant who ended up wearing a pair of bright orange ear defenders to shut the noise out!
On top of the lovely oatcakes I'm eating, the female servant's mother has given the female servant some nice coins to get me even more treats!! So I'm hoping the servants will toddle off to the nice pet shop in nearby Codsall soon or failing that Wolverhampton and bring me back even more goodies. And do you know what the really great thing is? it's not my birthday until tomorrow!! So if any of my fans are reading this feel free to buy me a box of treats that I can have all to myself (This is Andy, please don't, they get more than enough!!)
Right, that's it until next week. where has that cake tin got to! Bye for now! Lucy (it's my birthday!!), Ben (feed me loads of cake!!), Kylie (I'll keep crying until I get more cake) Cooper xxx
Hello animal friends and humans friends! It's your pals, Kylie, Ben and Lucy here! Shhhhh, don't make too much noise, our ears are on major alert at the moment. The male servant is rummaging through OUR cupboards in the kitchen and we don't know which one he's looking in. We have two cupboards you see (we think we should have more but the humans run a tight ship here, they are SO mean!) One cupboard is our TREASURE cupboard, which contains all the nice things; treats, chews and all the good things all dogs should have. The other cupboard, which we DON'T like speaking about, has NO name, it's full of things we don't like such as ear wipes, doggy toothpaste and nail clipping nasties. So anyway.........oh hang on he's returned from the Kitchen and is walking towards us with a big smile on his face! This doesn't end well!! What does he have?? Aaaarrrrgggghhhh, IT'S A NAIL FILE FROM THE 'OTHER' CUPBOARD, time to hide! Quick, you get behind the curtains Lucy, me and Ben will take the sofa! Back later............................................................................................
(One hour later) Well that was horrible. We tried to hide but he found us really quickly AND he cheated because he didn't even count to 100 before looking (such a bad sport). He told Lucy off too because she kept trying to pull her paw away and he kept pulling it back. He muttered something about 'Lucy we're not playing the Hokey Cokey here' (that male servant has no sense of humour). Anyway, that's this ordeal over with until the next one, we don't know who these servants think they are, they're here to serve US, which means giving us loads of treats not messing with our nails or scrubbing our teeth :-(
Anyway, we heard him say he's popping to sunny Codsall in a minute (good riddance) to get us some more biscuits so there are some perks living with these pesky humans. Anyway, that's it for this week, see you next week? Woof and slurps, Kylie, Ben & Lucy xxx

We are occasionally lively greyhounds who live with two human servants. Sadly our house- mate Ben crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 23/09/18, just a few hours after writing his final blog. We miss him so much but we know he's running free and no longer in pain.
