Good evening fans, it's your lovely Kylie hound here!
It's hard to believe, but I've been living with Ben, Lucy and the servants for two whole years on 2nd November (that's 14 years in old dog money, and I expect it must feel like that in human years to the servants at times. They love me to bits though even if I can be a bit demanding on occasions!)
To celebrate my anniversary, I'm hoping to get something nice and if the word on the street is to be believed I'm feeling rather optimistic! Benny Hound overheard the servants talking earlier and I'm pretty sure I'm in line for some nice home baked treats to celebrate my anniversary and I'll also be getting plenty of nice car rides in the coming days. I suppose Ben and Lucy can come along too and the servants as well. Actually the servants will have to come or there'll be no one to drive the Hound Mobile and I don't fancy a day sat on the drive if that's all the same to you!
Last week, the servants came back with some shopping and I thought I'd use the opportunity to try out one of the new beds in the Hound Mobile. Basically, as the male servant walked past me with shopping crates up to his eyes, I galloped past him and jumped into the back of the car- not bad for an 11 year old eh??
I was sat there waiting for the car to start and to be taken somewhere nice but many minutes later nothing had happened! Eventually, the servants appeared and the male servant exclaimed 'here she is, she's sitting in the car!' I sat there looking all pretty waiting for him to put the shopping down and START THE ENGINE..... but instead he said to the female servant 'Well, I don't know where she thinks she's going at 7pm on a Thursday evening', and then laughed at me! :-( :-( :-(
I was about to reply: 'I'll go anywhere you'd care to take me' (apart from the vets) but before I could utter my response I was being carried out of the car! Well I wasn't getting out through choice, I wanted a car ride!!!
Anyway, I'm looking forward to telling you about my travels next weekend! Let's put it this way, if I don't go anywhere nice the servants will be getting their marching orders (well okay they probably won't but Kylie Hound will NOT be a happy girl!)

This week's reflections come from Kylie hound:
"Well, the servants have popped to the shops to buy some treasure to fill up our food cupboard. I think they maybe getting a little shopping for themselves too but that's of no consequence to us.. We did a stock- take with them before they left and we helped them to sort their shopping list into two categories. The first category, or Priority One as we call it is the things we need in order to happily function: Dog biscuits, chews, dog food, ingredients for home baked treats, toys, gravy bones, maybe a new three piece suite for us to lounge around on etc etc. The second category, or Priority two, is anything they need for themselves once they've bought all of our things. Priority one is essential, priority two is a luxurious extra and we make sure they understand that every week before they head out in the pouring rain.
Anyway, as I've been a good girl they've given me full access to the television in their absence (well, they haven't but I thought I'd grab the remote control anyway). I've been flicking through the channels trying to find something to watch- it's not like in the good old days when television was in black and white and there were just a few channels, it's just so confusing these days! Ben has asked me to find a programme about food so he can salivate while waiting for the servants to come back. The best I could find was Porridge and that didn't seem to have anything to do with food, it seemed to just involve a load of men in a prison. Anyway, it didn't really matter because Ben was snoring within minutes so he clearly wasn't that fussed. Lucy then asked me to find a good comedy as she loves to be amused. Again I couldn't find much and she didn't seem very impressed with a repeat of Lovejoy. In the end I found some nice music for us to listen to on Classic FM and before long we were all flat out snoring our heads off. This must have been the case because next thing we knew the servants had come back with bags and bags of shopping! I'm pleased to report they bought most of what we requested minus the three piece suite (maybe it's due for delivery later in the week)? so we forgot all about the television and helped them open the first box of dog biscuits instead.
It's not a bad old life and next weekend we're off on another adventure in the 'Hound Mobile' so looking forward to that and we'll tell you all about it next time"
(Kylie was in conversation with herself as Ben and Lucy were asleep and the humans were out. Still it somehow made it into print above so all's well that ends well)!
Hello fans, Lucy here!
I'm looking a bit sorry for myself in the above picture because the female servant told me off this week because I kept refusing my worming tablet. After about the 7th attempt her patience wore a little thin but I was determined to hold out for as long as I could.
I can smell the approach of the flea and worming ordeal like a rat! Firstly, the servants huddle in a corner a couple of weeks before and plan a date to give us the treatment so I automatically store that date in my doggy brain. The male servant then orders the treatment and after a few days the postman delivers it. My primary strategy is to sabotage the goods as they arrive but there are three fairly major problems: 1) I can't open the front door, 2) I can't do a good enough impression of a human being in the eyes of the postman and 3) I can't hold a pen let alone forge the signature of the servants. I therefore adopt plan B which is basically to try and hide when the female servant approaches with the treatment. That normally fails pretty quickly so I then pretend I have no legs so she can't get me into the kitchen. That plan fails pretty quickly too. I then try and complain of an upset stomach but as I can't talk their language that falls flat on its face as well. In the end the only option is to grudgingly accept the flea treatment and then keep spitting the worming tablet out until the servant gets bored and gives up. Unfortunately she doesn't get bored (although does say some naughty words at me as she gets more annoyed at my behaviour) and doesn't give up either, so eventually I have no choice but to take the tablet. Ben and Kylie are much better behaved than me and the treatments don't bother them but I don't like doing things I don't want to even though I have little choice in the end :-(
In other news, our Autumn and winter wardrobe has re-appeared this week as it's started getting colder. We like wearing our coats and we have lots of different colours to choose from. The male servant hinted he might be getting us some new coats this winter so be assured we'll show off our new wardrobe as and when we get it!
Until next time. Stay warm and watch out for flea and worming treatment (not that it makes any difference to us, we still have to take it!) Lucy, Ben & Kylie x
Good evening one and all, this is your favourite hound, Kylie speaking! Well, what an eventful weekend it's been! We FINALLY got to try out the all new Pet Minicab for starters. Despite being kept waiting for weeks on end, it was definitely worth the wait once we climbed into the car. We should have been taken for a day out weeks ago, but all we heard was a load of excuses from the servants. Either the beds weren't quite ready or they were too busy or the male servant needed somewhere quiet to go to sleep and chose the pet minicab; you name it, we heard it!
Yesterday, though, we went for a nice car ride and then had a jolly good walk round a nice park in Tettenhall, near Wolverhampton (pic below)
The afternoon was slightly marred, however, for when we got home the male servant decided he would take advantage of our 'tired' state and file our nails and brush our teeth!. Needless to say we were less than impressed and Lucy took the drastic step of lying on all of her paws to prevent him from gaining access and also burying her head in a cushion so he couldn't brush her teeth. After several minutes of moaning with a few choice words the male servant finally finished tormenting us and left us alone again (the moaning and the choice words came from the servant's mouth, not ours by the way)
Today (3rd October 2016) is Ben's 70th birthday (10 in the old money of human years). We love birthdays because the female servant bakes lots of nice treats as seen in the below picture.
As you can see, we were very interested and couldn't wait to try them. We gave them the thumbs up as ever but we would like her to bake more for us as it's not our fault you humans only count one birthday a year- we have 7 in doggy years so on that basis we should have twenty one batches of cakes per year, not a paltry three!
Until next week, we're off to stuff our faces!

We are occasionally lively greyhounds who live with two human servants. Sadly our house- mate Ben crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 23/09/18, just a few hours after writing his final blog. We miss him so much but we know he's running free and no longer in pain.
