Good evening all. We hope you're enjoying your Sunday. We had a lovely long walk this morning with the servants, two square meals, one of which contained lots of nice fish. The male servant also insisted on brushing our teeth; we did tell him there was no need but he insisted anyway. After that we all watched the Formula One Grand Prix together... well to be truthful we actually slept through it but it was on the television nevertheless. We knew it was on as the noise of the cars kept making our ears flap and we were dreaming about running fast like a Formula One car! The servants then went off to Wolverhampton to fetch goodies for our doggy cupboards and ever since they've returned we've been bothering them so they give us some of those treats. So far we've managed to get two biscuits each but the night is still young and I'm sure we can prise a few more away from that cupboard yet!
Most of you will be aware that this week has seen people getting far too excited about something called Black Friday. We rarely get excited about such things. It's usually squirrels and treats we get excited about.
However, this Black Friday thing has got us thinking.... and we say FORGET Black Friday, why not go and fuss a black greyhound instead?!
There are loads of black hounds like us at rescue shelters who often get overlooked for some reason. Our servants chose wisely in rescuing us and we've rewarded them so much over the years by being good dogs, doing as we're told, letting them brush our teeth and clean our ears, not shouting at squirrels etc etc. The servants couldn't wish for three more noble and well behaved dogs to work with so we'd encourage anyone who doesn't own a black dog to go and get one straight away!
Just look at our faces in the above picture. Who can resist such sweet, innocent pooches like us?
Anyway, we've fallen on our feet but we do often spare a thought for all the poor dogs who don't have homes, regardless of breed and colour. Every dog deserves a home and none should be left in a pound :-( If you can offer a loving home to a dog, please think about doing so....
Anyway, until next week, we'll bid you a fond farewell. We're off to watch Country File and Planet Earth 2 and then we're off to bed.
Night all :-)

Musings from Kylie:
"As winter approaches, us hounds like nothing more than to be warm. It's really important that after a brisk walk in the cold, or after eating our food in the hallway, or being made to go outside to do our business, that we do our utmost to get to the sofa as quickly as possible.
Why is it important to get a place on the sofa? Well, mainly because it's near to a radiator and when the heating is on it doesn't take long to warm our bellies. After food and sleep, keeping our bellies warm is the number one priority from November to March inclusive (it's a fairly high priority for the rest of the year too)
As you can see from the above picture, Lucy & I have reserved the best seats for ourselves on the sofa and are rather cosy. Unfortunately three into two doesn't go so at least one hound has the inconvenience of either taking one of the armchairs or in extreme cases, the floor.
Luckily, it's rare that we end up on the floor because the servants are often busy cleaning up after us outside or washing our food bowls or putting towels away after our paws have been dried, so they rarely get the best seats. Oh well, they have a great job already (taking care of us) so what more do they need? They don't have much time to sit down anyway, and as I write this they are in Wolverhampton buying us some more dog biscuits as we're down to our final 7 boxes. They do a good job to be fair, but we like to keep them on their toes so that complacency doesn't set in.
Winter is definitely upon us because our extra warm winter coats have appeared for the first time this week. It's never nice being out when it's windy and cold but at least we can feel snug in our fleece-lined garments. We do like this time of year though because we can crunch through the golden leaves and Ben loves to kick them everywhere, especially when one of us is standing behind him, or better still one of the servants.
There isn't much else to report this week so if you'll excuse me I'm going to turn over now and warm my back. I'll try to get another hound to write next week so I don't have to lift my head off this warm sofa.
Bye for now, Kylie (Ben & Lucy) xx"

Good evening friends and fans, this is Lucy Hound here!
I hope you've all had good weeks? Ours has been busy as usual... well okay it hasn't been particularly busy but we've been on plenty of nice walks, eaten some decent nosh and had lots of nights in front of the fire, so we have little to complain about. The male servant says he'll consider turning the fire ON one of these days so we may actually get to experience some heat coming off it, you never know!
Anyway, we have a feeling it's the male servant's birthday this weekend (see pic above). We know this because he's received his birthday cards in the post this week- all two of them- oh to be that popular!
Anyway, as a birthday treat we're going to help him celebrate in style by doing the following:
1) Allowing him an extra 3 minutes in bed tomorrow and Sunday before getting him up to feed us (subject to Ben's approval);
2) We will excuse him the need to brush our teeth this weekend, in fact we are happy to extend that beyond this weekend, generous eh?
3) We will excuse him the need to file our nails this weekend. In fact, we are happy to extend that beyond this weekend, generous eh?
4) We will allow him the opportunity to take us for a short ride in the car to the park
5) We will excuse the female servant the need to clean our ears this weekend. It's not even her birthday but we're happy to spread the love;
So, as you can see, we really are very loving and generous hounds. Hope the male servant appreciates it. Hang on, just heard from Ben that he is vetoing number 1, so unfortunately, the male servant won't be getting an extra 3 minutes in bed, but he still gets numbers 2-4, so plenty for him to enjoy!
Until next week, enjoy whatever you're up to, and for our doggy friends, watch out for pesky humans trying to brush your teeth!
Love, Lucy, Kylie and Ben
Well, for the second week in a row, here is your favourite Kylie hound bringing you the dog-blog report!
It was supposed to be Ben writing the blog this week but he's currently snoring in front of the fire. I asked Lucy if she fancied writing it and she just flapped her ears at me and went back to sleep- so if I don't write it who else is going to?? "ONE OF THE SERVANTS?" I hear you ask? Ah, well, the male servant is currently in Codsall fetching our doggy shopping. When he comes back he'll be cleaning out the Hound Mobile and after that he'll be preparing our supper and after that he'll be preparing his own supper (if time permits).
"THE FEMALE SERVANT THEN?" I hear you ask? Well, she is currently baking another batch of these scrummy cakes to celebrate my 2nd anniversary of living here.
I could ask her to stop baking and write the blog but if she does that I won't be able to eat the cakes so I thought it best she stay in the kitchen and finish the baking. in any case, this is supposed to be a dog blog and therefore it would be cheating if a human wrote it, we'd never live the embarrassment down!
This week has been fun I have to say. I've had lots of nice cuddles off the servants and lots of treats to celebrate my 2nd 'gotcha day'. I was scared on the day I ended up in kennels in Nov 2014 (after my previous owner died) and it was a relief when my new humans and Ben and Lucy offered me a new home :-)
Other than the nice cakes this week I also had a ride in the car. It wasn't quite the destination I was expecting but to quote the male servant 'you can blame motorways and roadworks for that'. If you want to know what happened you'd best ask the male servant although he may say a few naughty words while telling the story.
Anyway, life isn't so bad and I look forward to next week's blog, mainly because someone else will be writing it.
Kylie (and a snoozing Ben and Lucy)

We are occasionally lively greyhounds who live with two human servants. Sadly our house- mate Ben crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 23/09/18, just a few hours after writing his final blog. We miss him so much but we know he's running free and no longer in pain.
