Hi all! Kylie Hound here!
We hope you all had a nice Easter. Us hounds went on lots of nice walks over the long weekend, including a nice woodland walk surrounded by lovely bluebells :-)
Now once a year, us hounds like to do a little role reversal with the servants and we encourage them to take the weight off their feet for a few days and let us take care of things!
So, last Saturday, Ben, Lucy & I got up really early and spent a good hour preparing breakfast for the servants. Lucy cooked the servants a feast consisting of tomatoes, lightly fried bread, mushrooms, eggs and hash browns, I made them a pot of tea and Ben picked some fresh fruit and berries from a nearby orchard.
After breakfast we took the servants for a lovely long stroll and were very patient with them. We didn't tell them off if they stood still for too long or spent too much time sniffing things, although we did threaten to put a muzzle on the servants if they didn't stop eating the grass, our patience really did run thin when they kept eating grass :-/
When we got back from the walk we made them comfortable in their favourite chairs and found them something interesting to watch on television (an achievement in itself). We then prepared their lunch; fresh fish, rocket salad and new potatoes. After dinner, Ben did all the washing up while Lucy did the drying up and I put all the plates and cutlery back in their rightful place.
We then had a very quick snack ourselves so we didn't burn out and we then cleaned the house from top to bottom, Ben took care of the bedrooms, Lucy cleaned all the surfaces and I vacuumed the downstairs rooms.
We then spent an hour cleaning the Hound Mobile inside and out and shortly after that we tackled all the weeds in the garden and planted a few new shrubs.
We were just about to tackle dinner but thankfully before that happened I woke up from the horrendous dream I was having to find the male servants toe almost lodged up my nose! It must have been the smell of his feet which caused me to have such a bad dream, a nightmare even. Luckily, none of the above actually happened (except for lines one to three). Under no circumstances do we do role reversal in this house, the servants already have a great life living with us, they don't need it any easier or there'd be no point in them even being servants!
Until next week, I think I need a session of therapy after that, apologies if I've scared any children during this week's blog!
An exhausted, Kylie, Ben & Lucy x

We are occasionally lively greyhounds who live with two human servants. Sadly our house- mate Ben crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 23/09/18, just a few hours after writing his final blog. We miss him so much but we know he's running free and no longer in pain.
