"Hello friends, Kylie here :-)
Last week, the female servant was posting updates on Facebook and I was having a sneaky look over her shoulder. Well okay, what I was actually doing was waiting for her to vacate the armchair so that I could park my bottom there but while I was patiently waiting for the chair to be free (38 minutes and 28 seconds to be precise) I couldn't help notice that she was sharing a picture of a very sweet looking hound. I quickly realised the hound in question was yours truly :-)
The first picture she posted was taken just days after I arrived here (see below)
For anyone who doesn't know my story, I lived happily with my previous human for NINE whole years. While the other hounds in the household spent time at the track racing, I spent most of my time by his side as I wasn't quick enough to race :-(
My human sadly died in late 2014 and me and my fellow housemates, Ash, Louis, Emmy and Isla were placed in a rehoming kennels in Birmingham. I was really scared as I'd never been in kennels before and I did a lot of crying during the 24 hours I was there :-(
Thankfully, Ben and Lucy persuaded my new humans to take me in and I joined them in November 2014. My other housemates all went to new homes too but they have all sadly passed over The Rainbow Bridge since being rehomed and I really miss them. I know they've gone to a good place though and are still with me each day in spirit. When I joined mynew humans I had quite a lot of redness around my muzzle caused by gum disease and my nails weren't great either. I also struggled to adjust to a different food but my humans were very patient with me and I soon got better. I've had a lot of love and support from my new family and the above photo was taken just a few weeks ago. My muzzle is much cleaner now and my nails have improved, although the male servant still insists on filing one of my problem nails most nights as it's growing in an abnormal way :-(
I'm much more confident now and although I've spent my entire life around greyhounds, I am getting better around other breeds as long as they're patient with me.
I'm nearly 11 and a half and am in the prime of my life. I often go galloping in and out of the house, particularly when I know there are treats available! I have my own exclusive armchair and access to the sofa and beds on the floor. Ben and Lucy are great company and my humans can't do enough for me so it's not a bad old life at all :-)
Hope you've enjoyed reading a snapshot of my life. Please keep liking my photos on Facebook! See you all soon :-)
Love, Kylie xx"

We are occasionally lively greyhounds who live with two human servants. Sadly our house- mate Ben crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 23/09/18, just a few hours after writing his final blog. We miss him so much but we know he's running free and no longer in pain.
