Good evening fans! Lucy Hound here! I've woken up specially to tell you that spring is definitely in the air!
Us hounds love it when the weather starts improving because it means we get to explore areas that aren't as accessible during the winter months. We're not big fans of winter because it's cold, dark, wet and muddy and we always end up with soggy paws!
Last Sunday we suggested to the servants that it would be a good idea to have a walk along the canal. What we meant by this is that we insisted on having a walk along the canal and we pointed our noses in the direction in which we wanted to go, and refused to move until they walked in that direction! Always works a treat, never fails!
We love walking along the canal, well alongside the canal we mean, not actually in the canal although I must admit I have fallen in on one occasion and Ben has had a few near misses! When we walk along the canal towpaths we get to explore all sorts of different sights, sounds and smells, while the female servant looks for different species of birds and the male servant can get away with singing because no one can hear his appallingly out of tune voice (except us unfortunately).
Anyway, last Sunday's walk was most enjoyable and we were out for a good two hours. It should have been less than that but at one point we passed a herd of pigs and Ben is absolutely fascinated by pigs. He just stands there looking at them with his big ears on end. The male servant initially stands there and waits for Ben to move, then after about 5 minutes he says 'come on now Ben, let's go', which Ben ignores. Then after about another 10 minutes he says the same thing again only more sternly, which Ben ignores. Then after another 10 minutes he may even use the odd naughty word to try to get Ben to move but one thing is certain, Ben won't move until he's ready to! We're there that long the servants are thinking of taking a picnic next week!
Anyway, let's hope for more nice weather so that all doggies can get to explore and see new sights and sounds as summer is approaching.
Take care until next time.
Lucy, Ben & Kylie.

We are occasionally lively greyhounds who live with two human servants. Sadly our house- mate Ben crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 23/09/18, just a few hours after writing his final blog. We miss him so much but we know he's running free and no longer in pain.
