Hello to you all! We've taken a break from Hound Chat while we recharged our batteries over the summer. As you can see from the picture below, we're now fully rested and raring to go.... well to some extent! Ben is missing from the photograph, presumably he's scavenging food somewhere!
Hope you've enjoyed the long, summer days and the beautiful weather (no we didn't spot summer either!) We have, however, managed to enjoy some pleasant walks along the canals. We were hoping for a day at the seaside but we're still waiting- come on servants- we do like to be beside the seaside!
We've had a couple of birthdays among us since we last wrote. Kylie turned 12 in July and Lucy turned 10 in August. As they were double digit birthdays we insisted on a cake and got the female servant to make a tuna cake for us all to share. We await another in October when Ben turns 11. WE LOVE CAKE!! We do have to smack the male servant's paws though as he also keeps pinching our goodies. We can pinch yours, servants, but NOT the other way round!!
We also had an injury amongst us :-( Kylie can't do anything steadily and managed to rip her leg trying to barge past the kitchen gate to get outside- must have been desperate for a wee! Anyway off she went to the vets which she hates- and came back with a very fetching (and expensive) pink bandage which she had to wear for a few days. The wound had to be stapled but a few days later the bandage came off and a week or so later, the staples came out. Kylie has healed very well and is now nice and calm and genteel (when she's asleep!)
We're slightly concerned as we keep hearing mention of 'dog shampoo' and apparently our yearly baths are 'due'. We're safe at the moment as the servants need to buy the shampoo. We're doing everything we can to keep them too busy to get around to buying it!
Anyway, nice to chat with you all. We hope to write sooner next time!
Wags and sniffs,
Gladsone, on behalf of Kylie, Ben & Lucy.

We are occasionally lively greyhounds who live with two human servants. Sadly our house- mate Ben crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 23/09/18, just a few hours after writing his final blog. We miss him so much but we know he's running free and no longer in pain.
